32/20/17

Yesterday I turned 32 and Emery was 17 months, today i am 20 weeks pregnant. WOW that's a lot of numbers in a short period of time. My birthday was great. Dave and Emery made me a beautiful card and got me a necklace. Tuesday night was arts and craft night and the two of them decorated a card for me and made me some artwork. It was so cute, Emery had a blast. Dave brought home glitter. (love it!)

Prisha took me out to lunch and even got me a gift! We went to dinner at Yamato's and Mom and Dad treated! Emery did really well with the fire. She was very interested in people catching the shrimp in their mouth. When we got back to the house Lily brought over cupcakes! ummmm.....i love cupcakes!

20 weeks - i can't believe i'm half way there. This pregnancy is moving! Monica is throwing me a "sprinkle" I love it! mostly for clothes of course so this little guy doesn't have to wear pink. But i did register for some stuff at Babies R Us and Target

Movement

I should have written last week - because that's when i first felt him move. It's usually only once or twice a day. But always in the morning. We're calling him Rambo James, did I mention that? I've been pulling Emery's clothes out of the attic to see if there is any non-pink stuff I can use for him....poor little guy is gonna end up in girls clothes at some point - either by my hand or Emery's.

Dave and I think we're closer on a real name but nothing is for sure yet. And like Emery we won't share it until the end. His room is filling up. I keep finding things and just sticking them in there. He will be rocking a purple swing....very metro of him don't you think?

In current news Dave is in NC for a fishing tournament, and i really miss him. (yes it's only 2 days...but still) I'm not used to being without him. It's been overcast here for a few days and in the 70's. I'm in love with this weather. We have been outside all weekend (Emery and I). We went downtown to the farmers market yesterday and then over to some friends for dinner. Emery is doing great. She's so much fun. She communicates with me now - showing me what she needs/wants. She brings her shoes over and sites down and sticks her foot in the air. It's super cute. She plays with me too, she was sitting in the back seat of the car yesterday and when i looked in the rear view she had her hands over her face and this big smile on. So of course I said "where's Emery?" and she moved her hands and laughed. I love her so much!

Heartburn Sucks - 18 weeks today

I never had heartburn with Emery...I had no idea what it was like. It's not very pleasant and I have a feeling it's going to get worse. I had tums in my purse but someone - and i won't name names - thought it was fun to shake them and run around the house. So needless to say i have no idea where they are.

Emery has 2 teeth now, ah woo hoo! Though one of them is causing her some major pain. She hasn't wanted to go to sleep lately. So we've been letting her fall asleep with us and then I move her. Once she's asleep she's good. So i'm not sure what it's about. But we're rolling with it.

We went to babies r us over the weekend and got a new infant car seat for Rambo James (yes that's what we're calling him right now). We also swapped out Emery's pink seat that we never opened for a grey one. A big more unisex. I'm working on getting some boy hand me downs over the next few months. I have girl clothes for Emery up to 6T, but very few are unisex. So i'm all over it. I got my first bag this week from a girl at my office, they are 18-24 months. SO CUTE!!

Other then the heartburn, things are good. I have felt a little movement but only twice. So we'll see. We still don't have Halloween costumes yet so i really gota work on that.

It's a ..... BOY! (wait what?)

A boy! I didn't know Ferber Girls made boys!

So yesterday I go in for my monthly anointment. I go into the little nurse room with Karen, my nurse. I love Karen! She even visiting me in the hospital when I had Emery. So I joking say to Karen "you're not really going to make me wait an whole month to find out the sex right?" I know the rules. You get two ultrasounds per pregnancy unless something is wrong. So i knew there was no chance. So Karen says "well let me talk to Barbara" (my midwife). I'm thinking sweet, maybe they can do it a week earlier. So we continue with our questions and do the blood pressure, and Kelsey walks by, my favorite ultrasound tech. I didn't get a chance to say hi b/c she was with a patient. Karen brings me to my room so i can wait for Barbara. A few minutes later Kelsey comes in to say hi. I jumped up and hugged her and we got to catch up. Barbara comes in and we get to hear the heartbeat, it was amazing! I could listen to that all day long...then she says, Karen is checking with Kelsey to see if we can sneek you in to see the sex! TODAY!! So i start texting and calling Dave like crazy. no answer. Well Gene (my other midwife) came in that day to get some papers from Barbara. So I started chatting with Gene. Karen comes back and says Kelsey is almost out of her ultrasound and asked if i got a hold of Dave yet, so i call him one more time and he finally answers...Karen comes back over and says Kelsey said yes, she can do it in 5 minutes!!! So i tell Dave they can do the ultrasound ... he says what time...i say RIGHT NOW! So Dave jets over to the doctor's office (i'm sure he was flying) and as soon as i walked in we went right into the Kelsey's room and within seconds found a little penis! I couldn't believe it. Emery is going to have a little brother!!!

As for Emery she's doing great. Changing every day. She understands so much now. She will walk into the pantry and then ask to be picked up so she can show you want she wants off the top shelf. She dances all the time, mostly to techno....haha just like her mommy. And the other day grabbed my hands so i would dance with her. It was amazing. I just can't get enough of her. She is in the big tub now for bath time and is getting pretty comfortable in there. Her sleeping has been good and she's completely off the boob. I really wanted to have a few months between them breastfeeding so she doesn't get upset with the new baby. I'm sure she might want to nurse again, and that's fine. we'll see.

Dave and I are both very happy with her new school. They are just really amazing over there. We're very lucky.
