Baby #2

A few weeks ago I had a funny dream...i was having twins! ok no so funny more of a panic. I had a feeling i was pregnant but wasn't sure. I took a pregnancy test...not pregnant. Ok Fine. a week later--- still no period....took another one. Lost track of time (i think i waited 7 minutes not 2) and came back to see a VERY faint second line, almost wasn't sure it was even there. A few days later i got my ass over to CVS and bought a two pack. Took the first one...no lines at all!! are you kidding me. it was a dead test...Pregnancy test number four. To all of you that have taken one, you have two choices. 1) hold stick in stream of urine for 5 seconds or 2) pee in a cup and hold it in the cup for 20 seconds. Seeing that number one has been unsuccessful 3 times in a row, we opted for number 2. and WA-LA! 2 very clear blue lines.

Reaction number 1: OMG am i ready for baby number 2!! Emery is not sleeping through the night. and she's still on the boob (side note: her current status is no nursing during the day, only right before she goes to bed)

2 weeks later..

Reaction number 2: Excited! Dave and I started looking at nurseries, and talking about names. I told only two people, i was waiting on the whole family to get here to tell them in person. I was going to do invitations that said your invited to a meet and greet with the date and location (East Cooper Hospital)

2 weeks later...

Reaction number 3: Scared...I had some really bad cramps and some spotting about a week and 1/2 ago. Dave made me call the doc (i really didn't want to) and they said to come in right away. Dave sped to Mount Pleasant from Folly Beach and we met with our midwife last monday. The baby is measuring 1 1/2 weeks smaller then the estimated due date and there is a bleed spot of my ultrasound.

So what now? Well we go back to the doctor on Wednesday of this week to do another ultrasound. They said this happens from time to time and it can be nothing....OR it's a sign that the pregnancy isn't going to take. We haven't told anyone but family and a few close friends. The same people you'd want to be there in case things go south. I just want to know what's going. I know my body will do what it needs to, and i fully understand that. I still want to know what's going on though.

Signing

This past weekend Natalie, Trace and Livvy came into town to celebrate mom's birthday. Saturday night we all went on a dinner cruise around Charleston. It was so cool. Emery did great. She even started dancing when the music came on at the end of the night.

She does the sign for "more" now. To her it's more of an "I want that" sign but that works just as well. She will go grab the box of cereal and bring it over and then do her sign. It's pretty funny. Last night she was in her bath and pointed at the towel and did her sign. It was a pretty clear "i'm done with bath-time" statement.

She's so bright, it's amazing. She totally understands us. I said to her at the pool, you can either wear your hat or go sit with River in the shade. and she turned and went to sit with him. Finally she came back over and let me put her hat on and she pointed to the pool. It's simply amazing watching her.

The other cute thing she did yesterday: dave was laying on the couch and i went over and laid on him. Emery came over and wanted to get up on the couch with us. She leaned over and gave me two kisses!! then she climbed on top of me and laid down on my back. The curtest thing EVER!!

Every Changeing

The last month has been amazing!! Every day she has a new "skill". She dances on cue, blows kisses, gives kisses, loves the pool and the ocean, and eats pretty much everything. I say to her "give me your paci" and she hands it to me. She just started using her "more" sign. She loves the sippy cup and these cool squeezer meals from Earth's Best and Happy Baby. One day I said to her "go get monkey" and she not only knew what i was talking about, she knew exactly where it was. It was cool!

Dave and I are really enjoying just watching her. She was almost passed out on him a few weeks back and she managed to pick her head up, take out her paci, and give him a kiss. She then put the paci back in and put her head back down on his shoulder. I don't think it gets better then that.

Mom, Dad and I took her to to DC over memorial day. She got to see the whole gang and meet Natalee, Dave's sister, for the first time. It was really great. She did fantastic on the trip.

Her new daycare is amazing!! We are just so happy she's there. I had no idea what we were missing.

She started cutting her first tooth 2 nights ago. Finally!! I can't even list all the things she does now. The dancing is the best. She starts to dance in the car too now. It's super cute.
